Colebrook, NH – A new Non-Emergency Medical Transportation service will begin operations serving the Colebrook area on September 1st. The service will be provided by Tri-County Community Action Program in partnership with Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital and Coos County Family Health Services.
The new service will begin operations under the name COOS Non-Emergency Transport (CNET). The service be available to everyone in the community without charge. Donations will be accepted.
“Transportation to medical appointments is a challenge for many North Country residents. We’re pleased to partner with Tri-County CAP and Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital to provide this service,” said Julie Riffon-Keith, Operations Manager for Coos County Family Health in Colebrook.
Ed Laverty, UCVH Chief Medical Officer, added, “this service will help seniors remain independent, reduce missed medical appointments and support the health and well-being of those in our community who need help with transportation.”
Tri-Country Transit will provide an eight-passenger wheelchair lift-equipped van that will serve Colebrook and surrounding towns. Communities within the service area include Colebrook, Stratford, Columbia, Clarksville, Pittsburg, Stewartstown, Errol and Canaan, VT (center of town only).
Transportation will be provided to medical, dental, vision and mental health appointments, non-emergency hospital care, and local pharmacies. The service will operate on a Monday through Friday basis from 8 am to 5 pm.
Rides can be scheduled by calling Tri-County Transit at 1-888-997-2020 or (603) 752-1741. Advanced notice of at least 24 hours is appreciated, but every effort will be made to accommodate each rider’s needs. Appointments for rides after September 1st are now being accepted.
