Tri-County Transit Celebrates the 26th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

July 26, 2016

Across the country access to public transit has improved since the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) went into effect in 1990. Today, nearly 100 percent of transit buses and key transit stations across the country are ADA-compliant.  As the country celebrates the 26th anniversary of the ADA, the Tri-County Transit staff is proud to be able to ensure that our transportation service is accessible for every resident of every age within the three counties we serve (Coos, Carroll, and northern Grafton).

All Tri-County Transit vehicles are accessible and all drivers are certified in passenger assistance and the securement of mobility devices inside the vehicles.  All vehicles have one or two wheelchair stations in them. Our passenger’s safety is of highest priority.  Tri-County Transit is partially funded by the Federal Transit Administration thus required to meet all FTA mandated requirements for accessibility and safety.

If you need accessible transportation or would like to know more about our service please feel free to contact Tri-County Transit at (603)-752-1741, toll free 1-888-997-2020. or TTY: 711. Many local taxi companies have come and gone in some regions of the North Country but Tri-County Transit has been operating for over 30 years in the North Country and has expanded service from just serving the elderly and disabled to service for everyone of any age with or without a disability.

Tri-County Transit is a division of Tri-County Community Action Program (a private non-profit providing opportunities and support for people to learn and grow in self-sufficiency).
